COMMUNITY HEAT NETWORK

BC Community Wind Energy Project

Want to know why decarbonising heat is so much more difficult than decarbonising electricity?

Community-based

We operate in the Welsh Marches area covering parts of Powys, Herefordshire and Shropshire.  There are many local community initiatives that operate within this area and one of our aims is to share and spread ideas and good practice across the whole region.

Action Orientated

We support local actions that increase knowledge and understanding of the Climate and Ecological Emergency that we all face.   We do this through; outreach to schools, providing help and support to individuals who wish to reduce their carbon and ecological footprint and sharing resources and ideas to build local resilience.

Lightfoot Energy was an initiative of the Bishop’s Castle based Wasteless Society, which itself was founded in the mid-1990s.
Light Foot Enterprises was incorporated in 2008 and became a registered charity in 2013.  Light Foot’s main thrust was once the Household Energy Surveys, but has been expanded to pursue initiatives to encourage communities to tackle all aspects of the climate and bio-diversity crises.
